Thank you, Chris and Des!  I'll have the wing on before I hit the sack!
Cheers,
Bud

Thanks, Bo!  However, in my haste to get this done, I managed to remove the undercarriage while trying to attach the upper wing.  I had done several test fits without incident, then the moment I get out the glue, it all goes to hell in a handbasket.  Really not so bad.  I'm lucky nothing else broke the way this thing was dancing around my bench.  Easy enough to fix, just won't get it done tonight. :(

This is the first time I tried to do the undercarriage before the top wing.  Now I know why.  Lesson learned.
Cheers,
Bud

yea those eduard fokker undercarriages are a tad flimsy, i have had a few break and had to repair them. i rarely use a 1/48 kit tail skid ever anymore they break so easy you sometime dont realize it popped off til its just gone. i use either shaped smashed brass tube or some of that plaststruct coated steel wire just sand the plastic coating til its shaped right drill a nice hole ,glue, paint forget. never had one of those break yet. your fokker looks super sweet bud, the addition of the etched cowl panels etc, plus the flawless paint and decal work, i venture to say,"best 1/48 d.vii i have ever seen" it is excellent on all bases.

Hello Bud,

Looking so very very nice my friend. This is an awesome build! On all my models I installed the undercarriage first to have more stability when working on the wings, but when I see what happened to you I will maybe change the order too. Will you be able to hold the tension of the rigging cables or will you re-rig it? Well done my friend, it is a tremendous build!

Kind regards
Patrick

Bud,
She looks terrific with the wing on! Too bad about the gear but I am sure you will have it put right in no time at all! The cowl panels are gorgeous!

Very fine work Bud. But to get the top wing on is a difficult Job by Roden.

Bud,
Sorry I've come late to this party, but your build is really beautiful sir!  This is my favorite scheme of the Fokker-built D.VII's. You've done wonderful work so far, sorry about the u/c accident, but I'm sure you'll manage to get it in shape.

Your work is very, very beautiful!!!!

The Roden kit has a few unpleasant surprises!

The colors are very attractive, I love it !!

Hi!
Superb. Even with a broken u/c!
That scheme surely will look great in your display case!
The end is near! Cheer up!

Thank you so much for your overly generous comments, guys!  Especially you, Scott!  Geez! :-[
The end is indeed near, Iwik.

Here it comes...

Ta Da!  Done, done and done.  At least I'm calling it that.  There's more I could do, but that's it.  Time to move on.  The M.5 beckons.

Thanks for following along, Folks.  More pics in the section where build logs go to die.  The end is near...
Cheers,
Bud
