Xmald , yes I will be building the new tool one . Will be placing my per-order in at the LHS next weekend  :)

Yesterday I was able to get a few lick's of paint on the engine once the base coat of Humbrol # 11 mat alum followed by a dry brushing of Testors Model Master buffing alum . While this was drying the induction pipes got brushed with Burnt Iron . Back to the cylinders the tops I dried brushed Burnt Metal followed by a light dry brush of Exhaust . Time to load up the airbrush with a mix of Tamyia clear blue with a bit of smoke mixed in and just the tops of the cylinders got sprayed for the bluing effect caused by the heat . This was then tone down with smoke being sprayed over the whole engine . Once all this was dried a wash of black was applied . The lifter housing on the front of the engine is paint battle ship grey from the Model Master line . Once dried I glued the induction pipes in place and the wiring harness .

Todays goal will be fixing the leads in place and the push rods with a bit more weathering to follow .

Hi Terri,

I followed this build for some time. I'm impressed by what you are able to get out from 'an old kit' like this. Will you also be queuing for the recent Eduard kit?

Thanks Dagmar for following along . I like these " old " kit's , they are perfect of such projects as this  :) Yes I will be getting Eduards new kit of this bird  ;)


Thanks Xmald , I'm getting one step closer on getting her done !



Now that I have some what started to feel better and have the energy to sit in front of the bench work continues . Push rods are installed and so is the engine and front engine support as well as the guns . A bit of weathering and the top wing and struts will be up next ....

Looks fantastic, Terri.  I had started mine years ago and got distracted.  Now I'll probably wait for the new version.  Having wrestled with this kit I can appreciate how much effort it takes to get it to come out as great as yours.
