Not sure I've got it right about the ribs see-through: you have painted them with light tan on the lozenge decal itself?? the effect is really interesting, looks like the entire wing is translucent.

Sorry for the late reply back Vincent . Since Aviattic lozenge is transparent cutting the rib tapes with the same decal will not look right , the rib tapes aren't transparent so by spraying the kit decals an tan or even off white and laying these down first and then going back over them again with the Aviattic lozenge . This is a lot of work dealing with rib tapes . I went about shading my wings different . Rather than post shade I like to do per-shading ( it really opens up the playing field for colour variations ) . This is why right now the ribs appear to be white . The final steps aren't finished yet for the final appearance .

Since then my plan has changed and will not be spraying the kit decals and won't use the Aviattic lozenge for the ribs . I found some Microsculpt lozenge which I will use for the tapes instead and save myself a bit of work .

Over the past few days I have managed to be able to get some bench time in , even for a snails pass it is what I'm able to do at the moment .

Here is what the 5 colour lower lozenge from Microsculpt looks like over the Aviattic lozenge . It does contrast very well .

Note , only the right side has been done .

Very nice work Terri sounds like a lot of effort with the rib tapes but I think it pays off!
Best regards

Thanks for the reply about rib tapes. Now I got it. A pre-shading would surely lead to the same effect under transparent lozenges. I think I'll try that on my coming  Pfalz, as I also use translucent lozenge sheets (not Aviattic but home made).
