Last night I tried a small piece of 32 scale lozenge and had no issue at all . After 30 seconds the decal slid right of the backing .

Rick , Lance . Seems that Edmonton's water is fine after all and is the decal paper itself . I have these since this time last year so I think your right Rick . These are from the first batch before Aviattic starting using a different paper .

I really do like how these decal adhere to the surface and the amount of pulling and tugging , other decals would break apart .

Work continues with bit of painting . Rudder has it's coat of white toning down the per-shading . Prop blades have their base coat on ready for the lamination and the top wing has the lozenge applied .

Next step is applying a few coats of future in prep for starting the rib tapes . First part I will spray some old Eduard lozenge with Tamiya deck tan . I will only do one lozenge bolt at a time . Don't want the paint to cure for to long or it will crack when laying them down . Once this is all done , round two will be going over then again with the Aviattic lozenge ....

Bertl my friend , I'm one step a head of you ...already have my very own pencil  I have been toying with them for a few years now and so far I'm pleased with my efforts . Still though practice makes perfect

I'm using my time to go through things and do some long over do clean up and found a 3/4 bolt of Mircosculpt 5 colour lozenge upper and a bit of the lower . I thought I tossed this long ago !

With this in mind , I think these would work well for the rib tapes , saving a bit of time . They will need to be toned down with touch of smoke . Weathering should tie this in well .


What is your guy's view on this ?

From what you describe, it sounds like a good idea.  No sense tossing the decal if  you can use it for the rib tapes.

Mark , Rick . I hope so , taking me a long time to get to this stage and there is this fear that it won't like right and I'll end up having to strip it all off and start over . Not something I want to be doing .

Not sure I've got it right about the ribs see-through: you have painted them with light tan on the lozenge decal itself?? the effect is really interesting, looks like the entire wing is translucent.
