Man, Ernie, she is really shaping up beautifully!  Now you need to order one of these to display it with:

I'm late to the party Ernie, but she's shaping up to be a corker when she's finished. I especially like the way you've picked out the rib detail. From my experience, that's not always an easy thing to accomplish in a realistic manner, such as you've done here. 'Betty' makes me want to build another one myself but that's going to have to wait until I get a Snipe under my belt.

Cheers,

Chris

Bob, Bud and Chris, thanks a lot for your kind encouragement.  I will be back
before long with another update.  She really is an enjoyable build and I recommend
the Pup to anyone.
Bud, now you know that is just too good to pass up!  Darn you, I will have to rob
my paint fund! ;) ;D

Cheers,
Ernie :)

Looking fantastic. Really like the light weathering on the CDL  and white surfaces. Very nicely done.

Each time I come back here and look at your progress I am amazed at the workmanship you are applying. The paint application and decal application is excellent resulting in a very realistic looking plane, like Chris said, the way you picked out the rib detail is superb. Very well done Erne and I look forward to seeing your next update.

Hi my friends. About time for a bit of an update.

The next step is to start thinking about the struts and rigging.  I drilled out all
the wire attachment points on the struts with a 0.3mm bit, then attached the
front cabanes.  The Vickers is the kit part painted with Gunze Black Iron and
buffed to show some wear, just set roughly in place unglued in the picture.

Starting to attach the bracing wires...

On the Pup there are a few places where the, rigging wires attach to the wings
without eyelets.  For those, instead of trying to attach the monofilament by itself,
which I never have much luck at, I CA'd the line to a 0.3mm brass tube and cut the
tube to around 1mm.  It makes it easy to install into the drilled holes in the wing
securely and without mishap.

Next I attached the Vickers and began connecting the cross bracing which will be
tightened after the top wing is installed.

Sorry for the last picture. Not the best. :-[ :)

That's about it for now.  The saga will continue before long.  Thanks for looking
everyone.  Any advice/suggestions gratefully received. :D

Cheers,
Ernie :)
