What's your work space look like?
« on: May 19, 2012, 09:13:24 AM »
We did this on another forum and it was a lot of fun and pretty interesting.  Dekenba actually got this rolling by posting a photo of his desk on his "Pair of SE5a's" thread.  Here's my little contribution to the home decor.  A true testiment to my beloved bride's love and patience.  The purpose of the cage is to keep our 19 month old grandson out and the flashlight in the lower right of the photo is for rescuing parts from the carpet monster.

Show us wot yer workin' wit.
Cheers,
Bud

Thanks Bud, looking at your photo it proves you are abviously a prisoner to modeling  :)

Here's a photo of my work area, mind you though, it is not always this neat and tidy.

I'm blessed with a large work/storage room which is on the lower level of our house.  Known as my "Fortress of Solitude".   :)

From one end.

From the other end.

Main work table.  The pegboard came with the place.   :)

Painting table.

Airbrush area with spray booth which vents out the window through a removable panel.

The booth also doubles as a photo box for taking pictures used in my Airfix Model World articles.

Back corner with paint storage drawers and book shelves.

Cheers,
Eric

Bloody hell Eric!

separate paint & airbrush tables?

Wow. Impressive set up, my friend.

Here is my desk:

Here is my dedicated paint station:

And this is my airbrush control centre.

Note the special arrangement for controlling fumes, just above the desk.

We in Wales also refer to them as "windows".

Modelmaker - that's a professional looking set up, I'm guessing that you use that lot for your living?

Tony - I see you are really into WWI British fighters!

Don't sweat it Andrew. I used my basement workshop years ago for my modelling but found that I was missing alot of family interaction. I decided to move upstairs to the kitchen table for everything but airbrushing, which I still do in the shop. I have everything pretty mobile so I can carry my stuff upstairs in three trips each morning and I take it all back before supper. Sure, it's a bit of a pain in the posterior but now I can talk to the rest of the family while I work away at the table.

Cheers,

Chris

I'm the same as Chris, I keep all my bits and bobs in the study, then I move to the kitchen worktop for doing all my work.

Cheers

Pete.

Man, those are some tidy workstations. When I saw Bud’s I was thinking that maybe a good way to possibly keep critters off the workbench. Then I read the text. Apologies to the grandson Bud..........  :-[
