Lovely Des! You have this ability to make things appear effortless when we all know how much work has gone into it.

The pre-war era must have been a fascinating time for those pioneer builders. Maybe the only surprise is that I haven't come across an aircraft held together wholly by dovetail joints - although friends on the forum will, no doubt, know better!

Best wishes
Nigel

Here is the nearly completed engine sitting in the airframe, I made and fitted the push rods, rocker arms, valve springs and added the water jacket plumbing. I still need to add the fuel lines and the ignition leads from the magneto to the spark plugs. The hand shot gives a size comparison of this engine.

Hello Des,

I'm sure this will be the build of the year. Every update I'm more astonished. I have the greatest respect of what you accomplish.

Kind regards
Patrick

Hi Bo,

Good idea, but I think it will only last a couple of days until the next update.

Kind regards
Patrick

Bo, do you have copyright on that word? Do we need to pay royalties? In the meanwhile I'll turn to my adopted language  and say 'chapeau' Des, which in familiar parlance is a compliment too! Long may your magnificent work continue.

Best wishes
Nigel

Outstanding as usual Des!
What a strange looking machine - like something out of a Wallace & Grommet movie!

Truly a thing of beauty; can't think of any other way to describe it.
This is Modelling at it's best, and inspirational beyond words. Yet another one to be extremely proud of, Des.
Cheers,
Lance

Thanks guys for all your wonderful comments, they are very much appreciated.

A smallish update. I made and fitted the two radiators, they hide most of the work I put into making the engine. The radiators are made up of 0.4mm copper wire and 2.0mm half round styrene strips, the finished paint is Humbrol Antique Bronze polished with 0000 Steel Wool, the copper wire is left natural.

Hello Des,

You surpassed yourself once again, though I thought it wouldn't be possible. I wonder where this all will end!

Kind regards
Patrick
