The interior it's looking very nice Paolo.

You sure work fast!

I wish i could do the same, but with two jobs in between i barely have time to come here to watch you guys models... and having no time for my modeling makes me a little frustrated, get the feeling that i write too much and have nothing to show  ???  . Bullocks.

Cheers

Hello Paolo:

Nice work so far and so fast.  I like what you did with the cockpit, maximum results.  I have some extra filler necks from my WNW DVII builds that I am saving for this one when I get to it.  I will be following your build.

Best

WOW!  Great work Paolo.  ;D. I struggled mightily with these cockpits, and you make it look easy.  ;). I will try to learn from you.  :D. Very nicely done!

Regards,

Bob

Stunning cockpit work, Paulo.
Cheers,
Bud

I agree with my Amigo! Again I have another in the wings and already have seen some things I can do to improve over my former builds!

Wow, Paolo you are out-doing yourself!  The cockpit is looking fantastic.
I love the map case...it is a map case?  Beautiful job.

Cheers,
Ernie :)

ernie, yes, it's a map case from eduard... I draw up it also on paper, for future use, if you wish I post it here. ;)

The map case grabbed my eye as well, it is very impressive, a post of the map case here would help many modelers, thank you.

quite easy...

I hope eduard do not be offended!
here the measures in millimeters. oops! that "28" does not mean anything!

and here the development of a prototype in paper.
8719

8720

8721

the best thing is to use a brass sheet, or thin plastic card.
another thing that probably should be considered is to do it shallower, I guess (I'm sure) that at that time there were no bootlang jeppesen, and the necessary maps to fly VFR with less than 300km of endurance does not require too much space...

bye, p. ;)

That's great!  Thanks so much, Paolo.  It's one of those little additions that
give a model more personality.

Cheers,
Ernie :)

Some time ago I have built this model and I will be watching your struggles with this model.

glad to be of some help...

after a duty tour I found that nice thing in the mailbox:
8914

and a trouble it's solved... ;)

then I could do very little, but I put hand to another minute detail:
this is the window corresponding to the wing spar of the upper wing, through which were visible mark, code and serial number assigned by the commission responsible of construction supervision (bauaufsicht) which in turn was under the control of aviation Inspectors' army (idflieg).

commissions were numbered from 1 to 45 (less than 28, go figure why) and verified the entire production cycle of the machines, numbering each part. at the end of the process, a machine's number was given, and written on the spar, visible through the window together with logo and symbol ZAK (Abnahme Zentral Kommission).
is interesting (and bizarre) to note that the codes did not match with the werk numbers... but I think I found the correspondence table.

all this to say what? that I located and opened the window...
8924

or better, the windows! the other two kits are arrived, too...
8922

also I worked serially other parts, trying to do all identical. well, similar.
8920

also, I tried to rebuild the seat frame and his curtain behind. too long story, and I'm not convinced at all from the results.
8919

after some mails with "the customer", we agree to switch to "just" two Dr.I to him (Kempf/Udet) and to go for a wnw rumpler C IV... but I'm keep going on all three fokkers, you never know... all in all, I may retain one for me.
in this case, I like very much the Kempf's machine, but I'm not sure to really want to build two of them in the same time... any suggestions for an intriguing livery?

bye bye, p. ;)
