She's really looking the business now, Prze. I don't envy your upcoming
task of the rigging, but with your talents, it will come out wonderful...how
could it not?  Thanks for sharing this very interesting build, my friend.

Cheers,
Ernie :)

Nice progress Prezmol.

The model looks quite amazing, the shading and painting are superb.

Przemek - the scheme is beautiful - the first class build as always mate! I really like the way shading turned out.

Thank you, gents!
Rigging this beast was easier and quicker than I thought. Just one evening and the lines were tight and fixed. Filling the 36 holes with paint and sanding flush was not so. It is still not fully completed, especially the red zones still need my attention. But it is so close to the end, now...

Your usual modeling magic, my friend!  The rigging and shading really bring this bird to life.  Lovely!

Bud

She's up to your usual standard Prez, outstanding! What did you rig it with?

Thank you everybody. I am glad you like my FF49.

IanB - I use black elastic thread from worn stockings to rig 72nd scale models. Very flexible and forgiving material.

Pepperman and RAG - it was really one evening, some two hours or so. When I said it was easier than I though I meant, I had almost no problems, the CA glue was holding the lines at the first try, no need to repeat threading, cut too loose lines, etc. This does not happen always so. This time those 38 lines were very kind as if they wanted to pay back for the problems I had earlier with this build.

A few steps forward:

The upper wing prepared for shading

Usually I do not make bases for my models. But the floatplanes look unnatural without a beaching gear and that in turn is hard to assemble without a base. So I have prepared one using a custom made wooden frame and Polak base - meadow type. I will add a small plate with the aircraft name and affiliation, too.

Looking better and better with every update! Are those carts scratch built or some kind of aftermarket thing?
