Many thanks, Dan and Adam!
Well, I finished the decals on the Halberstadt fuselage.  The Roland is lagging way behind now since my airbrush is packed away for the move.  Although everything is a go with the mortgage company, the underwriter keeps requesting more documentation.  I think they're nervous because this is our 5th house.  I'm hoping we'll close early next week, then I can move, unpack my airbrush and get to work on the Roland.  I'd really like to finish these together.  Here's the Karaya fuselage:

I also prepped the wings and tail surfaces for the lozenge.  Both the 5 color Mirage and the 4 color Wood and Wire decals are supposed to be quite translucent, however when I did my Cl.II, the Mirage decals were not translucent enough to show the subtle contrast of the spars so I made them a little darker this time around.  I hope I don't get too confused doing these two together since the Halberstadts used a 5 color loz applied 45 degrees to the line of flight, while the Rolands used a 4 color loz applied 90 degrees to the line of flight.  Keeping them sorted should be fun.

Cheers,
Bud

Beautiful woodwork and a unique fuselage marking that adds a lot of interest to the aircraft. As usual Bud, you're doing superb work with this.

Holy cow! You own five houses?  :o

Cheers,

Chris

Hello Bud:

This is coming along nicely.  The wood grain is very convincing and the decals really enhance the overall effect.  The Wood and Wire lozenge is a just a bit fragile, more so in the handling after it is set than actually applying it.  I would seal it before handling it.  It does look like fabric!  Very neat stuff.

Good luck with the move, and looking forward to more.

Best

Mark

Thanks, fellas!  Rick and Mark, it'll be a while before I'm able to tackle the loz.  We've closed on the house and will probably get the keys tomorrow.  I'll be making several trips with my truck over the next few days, then one big load on the 25th.  Modeling area should be set up a couple days later.
Cheers,
Bud

Bud,

Your wood grain looks superb and the hammer marking on the fuselage is a great choice.

Tom.
