Don't be put off by what I said about assembling the cockpit, it was probably just me. Other modelers will find a different way to get things together and probably a lot easier, I tend to do things the hard way. One thing I will say though, the fit of parts is brilliant, every locating pin aligned with the appropriate hole perfectly and everything ended up square and true. A trial fit between the two fuselage halves show it as being very exact, the fuselage closes up with no gaps or any interference with the cockpit frame work, another one of Wingnuts expertly engineered kits.

Some more photos showing where I am up to at the moment. I did a trial fit of the cockpit coaming, it fits beautifully, the machine guns are also fitted and slotted into their positions perfectly. I have done the tail skid assembly with some rigging as well, the stringers on the inside of the fuselage sides have been painted so now the fuselage is ready to be buttoned up. I fitted the cockpit assembly to one side of the fuselage to see how the fit would be, as per Wingnuts usual standards it fitted exactly.

Ian - Yes, I have my fair share of dramas, some builds are easy, some are a real pain in the butt, but I have never tossed a model,yet......

I have the fuselage buttoned up and the cockpit coaming fitted, it all went together so easy, the cockpit fitted perfectly and the two fuselage halves matched up without any gaps.

I splashed a bit of colour on the fuselage today, I used Gunze Brown Violet for the darkish green and Gunze Barley Gray for the front bits. The engine cowl is only just sitting in position for a trial fit. I also did some very subtle shading under the wing.

Now, that's an impressive statement. How much better can they get I wonder? The review and "re-visit" process WNW uses during final Kit development as mentioned by Richard A. in the interview here is certainly working. Very impressive, got to get moving on my order of this one sooner rather then later. Any forecast on availability date for Barker's Early version decals, Rowan?
