It's turning into a real beauty Des. Everything looks so clean and precise as always.

Des, I follow your Snipe-build log very eagerly! I'm really happy, someone tackles "my topic", the "Post-Great-War-Lotsofsmallerwars-Period"! Besides, I like the shape of the Snipe. And if I should ever get me one, I will do it the Russian style too - although I could have a more personal version, building one of the two offered versions of the occupation forces in Germany, as I live and work close to Bickendorf (which nowadays is Cologne, Butzweilerhof).

I have added some decals which went on extremely well. The scheme I'm using is sheme A in the instruction book, 1st Soviet Fighter Aviaotryad, 1920 (5 victories), very plain markings but quite different to what I am used to. I don't like the big gap between the rudder and fin so I will remove the rudder and deepen the holes where the hinges locate, this should rectify the problem.

Beautiful work Sir!

Seconded.

Question about the colour: do the instructions refer to it as Soviet PC 10, or is it just British looking because it was a British machine on duty in Russia?

I'm amazed at how quickly you are progressing as well!

Nice work!! I know you work at an amazing speed but does the kit help that process along? Where does this one fit in the "buildability" ranking of WNW? You mentioned earlier how well it went together. Interesting that the gestation period for this kit was far shorter than others in the range but builds better than the DVII for example.

Thanks for all the nice comments, much appreciated.

Lindsay - The instructions call for Dark Green Semi Gloss and they give Humbrol No.88 or Tamiya XF70 as a colour guide. I have Humbrol No.88 (Deck Green) and in my eyes looks nothing like the colour profile in the instructions, so I used Gunze H421 Brown Violet.

Steve - The buildability of this kit would have to be as near to perfect as you can possibly get, the fit of parts is exceptional and no fiddling at all is needed to assemble the kit. The engineering in this kit, and the previous Hannover, has to be the best that Wingnuts have produced. They say they make their kits to be user friendly, well, this one certainly is, and being so easy to assemble makes the build time a lot quicker. The only process on this kit that will take as long as any other kit is the rigging, this is something that can't be rushed and there are no short cuts.

Hello Des:

My wife (God Bless her) got me the WNW Early Snipe for my birthday.  I thought she would, but you never know with women.  She wrapped it and gave it me before we went out last night.  What a lady!  I will be following your build closely.

Best

Mark
