Nice work on both builds. I think you captured the  heavy wear these aircraft experienced in operational theatres.

All the best,
Tim

Thanks Tim. I appreciate the comment.

Loving this, Rick. I really want to build one of these now after seeing yours and Mike's, and Richie's brilliant scratchbuild.

Dave V.

Thanks Dave. Mikes is the Benchmark for most but I am trying to show closer to OOB. Richies Scout is in a totally different class  8)

The fuselage has gone together beautifully Rick and the interior is superb. You're doing a great job on it.

Don't be too impressed with my Scout, close up it's kind of warty!

Thanks Richie but I will remain Impressed  8) Yesterday I spent several hours working on the CSM Scout C. Most of it was drilling holes for the rigging. I had Excell #80 drill bits that either broke if they were sharp, or refused to break when they were just sharp enough to push/ force  through the plastic  :(  The session ended with the lower wing being attached!

You're making good progress with the Scout.  Any fit issues found?

Thanks for dropping in Ken. I ended up needing to trim a bit off of the Bottom rear framework to get the lower wing in place.. I am 100% certain it was My own doing and not the kit!

Clipping right along, Rick, and looking good! I should definitely grab one of these kits before they’re all gone…

The Scout looks excellent Rick - well up to your usual very high standard. Breaking drill bits is a real headache and very frustrating - but the holes will allow for a more realistic look to the rigging.

I haven't done a lot on the Bristol but did attach the top and bottom fuselage parts as well as the Horizontal Tail surfaces. The cowling is not glued!

Thanks to Richard I also received an unexpected gift in the form of some TEST Shots of cowlings. These are NOT what will be sold! The production cowlings will be Cast!

Fit Test Decals, Again Not the Actual Product!

I also have some masks coming soon from Fredrik for 43 squadron Markings.

I have begun using the decals. So far no issues that I didn't create  8)

Nice update Rick, those printed cowlings look beautifully formed. Speaking of cowlings, I'm seeing a lovely turned metal effect on the Strutter and the decals look very promising too. 😀

The decal work looks good.
Have you decaled an entire aircraft before?  I think great care would need to be taken if you have to mask over the decal surfaces.

Thanks Richie. I am doing My usual "Smoke and Mirrors" on the metal. Just painted Tamiya Aluminum then did some circles with a Silver Sharpie  ::) It will look OK !

Thanks Tim. This is still experimental. I have added a lot of the undersurface decals, pics later!

Funny thing is My initial answer was going to be No. Then I thought of My first two WNW Fokker DVII builds. The Friedrichs scheme had lozenge wing decals and WNW streaked decals on the Fuselage. Only the nose, tail, and under fuselage were painted. The Loewenhardt DVII was entirely covered with Lozenge then the fuselage was overpainted.

That being said No masking was required. We shall see how this goes  ::)
