I wish to Start this Build by Thanking Edgar and CSM for His/ Their Generosity. Thank you very much for making this build possible!

Now that Mike has finished his detailed build of this kit I figured I would start a Slow, more or less OOB build. I am leaning towards doing #1255 with the union Jack markings. I will need to decide fairly quickly as there are differences in the details that need to be dealt with early on.

I will follow you build with great interest Rick, as I did Mike's.

Nice to see you work on a British bird!

Good to see you back building (nearly) real aeroplanes again Rick. I will be following along with interest, no matter how slow the build! I have long planned to scratch build one of these, but somehow it never seems to happen!

Stephen.

Very happy to see you building this Rick and what a lovely gesture from Edgar.

I met David Bremner at an air display yesterday and had a really interesting chat with him. Unfortunately it was far too windy for any of the WW1 types to fly.

I may have had a lapse of concentration and bought the kit too. ;)

Rick, looking forward to following along!

I'd love to build one of these myself, as the Scout has a special place in my heart. As many of you probably know, my old friend Leo Opdyke, who published WWI Aero magazine for many years built a 1:1 Scout in his basement. It'd make a fitting tribute to him, he went West earlier this year.

Thanks Guys! Your encouragement is appreciated. This arrived from Poland today via a Trade I did with a fellow modeler. ( All 1/48th scale WW2 kits I won't build)  8)  So in RAGIII style  we now have a Dual Build  ::)

So today I did some prep work on the CSM Scout. I took care of some of the pre build work neede for 1255. I removed the stitching from the fuselage sides and drilled holes for rigging etc.  I also removed the fuselage halves and wings  from the sprues for the Roden Strutter. I filled some sink holes prior to sanding.
