I have been working on this kit for a while now and have waited to post. The way My builds have gone in the last couple of years I wanted to make sure I had a Good Feeling that this one would go well  8) The kit is being built "Mostly OOB". Exceptions would be some wound wire valve springs, stretched sprue plug wires, and a few PE parts added later.

Interior installed and fuselage joined:

I used WNW rib tape decals from a fokker DVII to give the impression of tapes on this kit. I then sprayed a grey to prme the surfaces:

For the Silbergrau I used a mixture of Model Master Aluminum and Russian Flanker Grey. The Yellow Jasta 10 markings and tail are My Favorite mix of Tamiya yellow and red.

A FB friend sent Me a PM with this book:

It  Immediately changed My Mind on what color I wanted the stripe to be  8)

Red stripe added as well as crosses:

Finally...Upper wing Mounted:

Gorgeous! That yellow is sublime! It'll look fantastic with the red stripe.

Great progress, Rick. The yellow is exactly what I think would appear dark on orthochromatic film.
Did you have the usual bashed aileron tips with this kit. Pity they hadn't extended a bit of sprue to protect these as they move in box.
Onwards, mon ami - can never have too many Pfalzen!

This is going to be a beauty again Rick, and good to see you make such good progress.

I like the colour scheme you choce.

The yellow looks a bit orange-ish on the pictures though.

But it could also be that I need new reading glasses....

Very very nice Pfalz Rick, and great example of what can be done with just a little added effort on these Roden Kits! Great scheme you've decided on as well and I really like your interpretation of the yellow, the slight orange hue really works well with that red stripe, well done! Looking forward to the final results.
Cheers,
Lance

Thanks Sandy. The yellow like I mentioned is My "Standard" Jasta 10 "Chrome Yellow" per all of the descriptions of the Jasta markings I have read. I agree about the Ortho film as in many photos of Jasta 10 aircraft the yellow looks very dark to the extent it is difficult to separate from red or black. Finally, yes,  the tips were damaged on this one including the lower wing.

Thanks Willem. As for the yellow see My answer to sandy. That being said who can say for sure what "Shade" of Yellow is correct  ::)

Thanks Lance. I certainly haven't taken the kit to the level of the one Alexis is working on but I like where it is going  8) Like I said I do like the red and yellow together!

Thanks Ken, and I agree!

Excellent Rick. Good to see that at least this far the gremlins have stayed away - i hope that you manage to keep them at bay too. Silbergrau is not an easy colour to get right - but you have IMHO.

Thanks Stephen! The wings seem pretty solid right now but I think I will add just a drop of thin super glue to each strut location before rigging. Just to be sure  ::)

Off to a great start on your Pfalz, Rick -

Good idea for simulating ribs on the wings.

Thanks Dave! and just Like the Sith there are always Two  8)

Roden OAW DIII Jasta 4 flown By Kurt Wusthoff:

Other than adding a few interior details there are two corrections I have made to the kit. The rudder is oversized as is the Radiator. I used the WNW parts to correct the kit rudder and directly replaced the Radiator with a sanded down to paper thinness WNW DV radiator. The rest is pretty much OOB. The PE radiator from the Part of Poland set shows how oversized the kit has the radiator.

Thanks Stephen. I did something rare for Me and went with a Pre Made color for German WW1 Mauve. In this case the OLD Polyscale color. Perhaps a bit too red but I like it. Since the photos were taken I have gone back and done some touch up on the tail feathers as well as attaching the elevator.

One More from the other side:

PS: This aircraft had a lot of Stressed skin showing in photos. I have attempted to add that feature but it doesn't really show in My Poor Photos!
