@Alexis, @kensar, @PrzemoL, @acewwi, @Stuart Malone, @KiwiZac, @Bughunter

Thank you very much to all of you.
Frank and Spyros talk about a show - it's not going to be that great, it's just plastic modeling plain and simple.

Today only a small thing - scratch built from the seat cushion for the pilot.
The following pictures are from February last year.

Some of you know I'm a big wingnut wings fan.
Also here on this model I used material from New Zealand - even if it was only waste plastic in this case.

I used the outline of the kit seat as a template for the cushion.

The buttons were marked with a thin pencil ...

and drilled with a thin CNC drill.

The imprints of the pilot's thighs were indicated with a small half-round file.
The cushion should look used and crumpled.

Now the two dents left by the pilot's butt.
I used a small ball sander and the Dremel to create the two dents.

In the next step, the surface of the cushion was "raked" a bit with a small sharp cutter so that the surface of the cushion looks even more used.

Now the holes, in which the buttons are inserted ,were slightly widened and deepened with a cutter on the top side.

Between the machining steps, the surface of the cushion was smoothed with fine steel wool.

Using a pointed scalpel blade, the typical small indentations and folds were now made, which run from the center of the buttons to the outside.

Time for the thin circumferential leather bead with which sewed the top and bottom of the pillowcase.
Hot drawn casting bast is the right choice here.
Gluing is done with thin Tamiya plastic glue.
This glue has the advantage that the thin casting branch is slightly dissolved, making it softer and more pliable.

Nun die Knöpfe.
Zur Darstellung der Knöpfe benutzte ich Resin-Nieten von Masterclub.

Here in the picture the finished cushion in comparison to the kit part.

color makes the world more attractive ... .
Here are the three different color applications in order:

The mount for the pilot's seat in the model was created using various Evergreen plastic materials.

That's all for today.....bye until soon  ;)

So, the plywood floor is done, the rudder bar is done, as is the seat ....... now let's move on to the next step.
The control stick and its mount.
Again, I had no use for the kit parts.
In my opinion not correct and also much too lean in the representation.
Here again scratch-building was the order of the day.
I started with a 1mm diameter copper tube.
The copper tube was sawed in the middle, widened a bit and provided with a cross hole.
The white plastic rod on the right served me as a counter bearing, so that the tab of the copper tube was not deformed during drilling.

This picture shows somewhat the later position of the transverse control and bearing for the control stick in the fuselage bottom.

A separate bearing became necessary for support the transverse control.
This was "carved" from a piece of Evergreen plastic.
As a template for this complete construction, I used CAD drawings found in the www.
I do not want to link these drawings here because I do not own the copyright.
But they are easy to find via google etc..

The control stick was made of a (Wingnut Wings  :) ) plastic rod which was pulled over a candle flame.
A cross hole was drilled in this plastic rod and connected to the copper tube.
Thin and fragile at first sight, but in scale ..... and movable  ;)

..... a small remark:
English is not my native language, which means that I certainly cannot render some terms correctly  ::)
Certainly, the correct sentence structure will also suffer.  :-\
Please bear with me, but feel free to give me info and correct me if it gets too out of hand  ;)

Small plastic parts were glued to the control stick to hold the elevator control cables.
With a small file and sandpaper these plastic parts were filed in contour.

Fishing line was again used as control cable.
