A message of support for Roden in the Ukraine
« on: February 12, 2022, 10:07:19 AM »
With Russian military forces massing on the borders of the Ukraine and fears of an imminent invasion of that country I have reached out to our friends Roden in the Ukraine to express our concern for their safety and wellbeing and our ongoing support for Roden.

This is not a political post, we are a hobby forum and we support our manufacturers of whom Roden have been long standing supporters of this Forum for many years.

While our hobby involves military subjects from war, we can't forget that model companies such as Roden now live with the threat of invasion every day. I have told Roden President Vladimir that his friends at the WW1 aircraftmodels forum wish to send our best wishes and hopes that they will be safe in the times ahead.

Vladimir has now replied and expressed thanks for our support in these trying times.

"The situation is alarming indeed. Of course we are working and don’t give up. I am planning to release Sopwith Strutter, scale 1/32." he says.

Vladimir sends his wishes for peace and well being to us.

We can only hope there is a peaceful resolution to the standoff between Russia and the Ukraine, but with Roden based in the capital, Kyiv (Kiev), they are very vulnerable to the consequences of an invasion.

No more wars. Nowhere.
No more wars in Europe. We had way too many of them.

Well done, Dave.
Our thoughts are with our friends in the Ukraine.
Why can't we just live peacefully and forego this urge to build empires and occupy land. It is so futile- the land is still there long after we've gone.

Very well done, Dave.
We here in Poland do not want any war, never ever, having suffered so many of them in the past. May the good God send his blessing to that land, to spare us another war.

Thank you Dave, and well done sir. As many have said, our thoughts, prayers, and well wishes go out in the hope this will somehow be resolved in some other fashion.

Thanks for doing this, Dave.
The last thing this world needs is conflict and division. Two things that seem to be uppermost in society today.
My thoughts are with you Roden.

Cheers,

Folks,
I have just exercised Moderation responsibilities and removed two posts on this thread. Expressions of concern and well wishes that this situation will remain peaceful are fine, however politically judgemental commentary and speculation on various national actions/intents have no place on this Forum. Let's focus on plastic, resin etc. consideration and friendship; we are an international "club" and need to remain respectful of one another.

Yes indeed, we need peace, wars only bring destruction and suffering. Developed countries must focus their efforts and money on technologies that enhance the living conditions of humans, instead of producing mass-killing weapons, no more wars in our world, our thoughts are with the well being of Roden. Miniart, ICM, and other great modeling companies

Dave, having stopped following the news too closely a few years back the Ukraine situation has been on the outermost fringes of my mind and the consequences for the hobby industry there never crossed my mind.
Vladimir has now replied and expressed thanks for our support in these trying times.

"The situation is alarming indeed. Of course we are working and don’t give up. I am planning to release Sopwith Strutter, scale 1/32." he says.

Vladimir sends his wishes for peace and well being to us.
I have Ukrainian roots about three generations back, and know some Russian, but I feel the need to turn to Google Translate: Бажаю вам миру та удачі.

Well said all.
Roden were largely responsible for my return to the hobby, and I'm hugely grateful for what they've offered us over the years, in several scales.
The staff and their families are very much in ones thoughts.
