Thanks Amigo! Actually a Tri build  ::)

So I started the rigging on the DH2. As I feared those TINY Pulleys proved troublesome! I tried but just couldn't drill rigging prep holes!! Then I lost one to the Carpet Monster   :( So I punched out some styrene discs and made replacements for both. They are a Bit oversized but will hopefully help me with the rigging process  ::)

The painting of the Albatros DIII continues. I have added the basic fuselage scheme. Next up is the Jasta 6 black stripes on the tail...then lots of touch up  8)

RAGIII

PS: That beige patch on the DIII wing will be overpainted then chipped and sanded to look worn like the original...or so I hope!

PPS: This is where I am on the Albatros DII. I struggled with mounting the upper wing losing a cabane and interplane strut in the process. ( Still to be fixed). I am still debating if the wing gap is correct. One positive outcome is that this finally inspired Me to Order a Biplane Jig! Lots of touch up needed  :o

Excellent work on that Albatros Rick. When I built my Roden D.II a couple of years ago, exactly the same thing happened to me - broke the cabane strut in two places when placing on the top wing. Too much pressure. Had to "steal" one from my Roden D.III kit. I fixed the strut eventually, so if I ever put that D.III together, it'll have a fixed strut (hopefully not too noticeable!).
Cheers,
Gary

Thanks Gary. It is nice, in an abstract way, to know I am not alone in having difficulty with the upper wing  ::) If worse comes to worse and I need to disassemble the wing I have at least one spare cabane and the white metal interplane struts I didn't use. ( I cut the DI struts down to size) So a bit of clean up and drilling would get me back in business  8)

Thanks Dave. I have a bit of filling to do as a crack has appeared behind the cockpit  >:(

Nice!

I always wondered why Roden didn't do an early D.II themselves. They even did one in 1/72!

You certainly have a lot going on in this thread.  Good stuff.
Just curious, what biplane jig did you order?

I have the same question  8) It seems it should have been a Natural Progression!

Thanks Ken. I ordered the Vertigo Jig through UMM-USA

Very much liking the DH 2 Rick. Yes the pulleys on pushers can be a real pain to reproduce at an accurate size - ones that are slightly larger will not be boticed I can assure you.

The two Albi look very fine too - good work on both.

Thanks Stephen! I hope that once all of the wires are attached and painted the pulleys will sort of blend in with the Maze  8)

Rick,
This is really excellent work all the way around. Your perseverance in the face of kit difficulties inspires me, I'm sure it does others too.

Thanks Warren! This/ These builds have been a one step forward, two steps back thing but at least No Major Build ending disasters have occurred! I have started to assemble the Vertigo Jig. The basic instructions leave a GREAT DEAL to be desired!! That being said  I have progressed through what I would consider stage 1 of the assembly without issues.

I'm amazed at your building talents Rick.  Beautiful progress with sometimes
ornery Albi's.  Well done is a little tame but my admiration for your work isn't!

Cheers,
Ernie :)

All three look amazing already, Rick! Very neat and clean modelling and spot on colours, just lovely! Not too sure about jigs myself, it would be quite easy to work in some "tension" that could have nasty consequences later... but watching intently! Regards, Marc
