Alexis

Thanks Alexis! Nice to have you back  ;D
RAGIII

Rick, you set up a real aircraft factory! ;D Nice interior work on Albatri, and a really interesting shade on PC paintwork. Looking forward to next updates.
Ciao
Giuseppe

Thanks Giuseppe. The PC 10 should eventually look a bit more standard  :o Next up is some work with oils:

I have progressed on the Albatri. The DII is ready to paint and the DIII will be soon. I added a map to the left ammo container as seen in a photo of a DV...I figured why not  8) I have NOT super detailed the engine as not much is seen. A little touch up and the DIII cockpit decking and engine covers will be installed.

The DIII

Some touch up needed as shown by the Macro image!

The DII: Shows why I am not going overboard on engine detail!

Good progress on your DII and DIII, Rick -

I agree with you - no point putting in extra details if it will all be hidden away.

Thanks Dave. I did add some very basic plug wires and valve springs from copper wire.

The Photo I am posting comes from the Windsock Fabric special von Richthofen's Flying Circus.Greg van Wyngarden Author.  Although not a direct copy I have asked for and received permission from Ray Rimell to do so. It should be remembered that  photos, text, and Drawings  contained in these publications are Copyright of, Windsock/ Albatros publications and are not to be shared without permission.

As usual I intend to do an aircraft with unknown information. Greg wisely states that the Albatros pictured is overpainted an "Unknown" color. So I am planning on a Wild A#$ Guess, "WAG" for short. I feel comfortable eliminating black, red, and chrome Yellow as likely colors  8) Right now I am leaning towards green, A greenish field grey, or perhaps even a very dark blue. I would love to hear other WAGs' so feel free  ;D

PS: If you have the book check out the photo and chime in!!

My thoughts as well Rick...except maybe for the pink!  Too many things to list, but
I will just leave it as beautiful work, my friend.

Cheers,
Ernie :)

You really are a modelling machine Rick! I cannot comment on the colours I am afraid - that is an aspect of aero history of which I am profoundly ignorant.

These two will look great side by side when done.  A green color on the Alby would go with the PC10 on the DH2.

Thanks for chiming in Ken! I am certainly leaning towards a "Greenish" finish!

In the Meantime the rigging holes have been drilled in all three Models. I applied the roundels to the DH2 and went another step further and mounted the upper wing. I will follow the WNW suggestion and rig the Wing Cellule before attaching the tail parts.

Your DH2 tarting to look like an aircraft now, Rick

I agree with rigging the wing before attaching booms - that's how I did mine and it makes it easier to get into all the areas you need to attach lines.

Thanks Dave. I still have a couple of things to work out before I actually start rigging  8)

Rick,

I cannot comment on colours (even whether or not pink would be a suitable colour), but I am certainly very pleased with your latest post. I am with Dave concerning the rigging - in my experience of building two gargantuan scale pushers, rigging the wing cellules before adding the booms is a good idea. This is going to be another stunner form your bench I can see.....but please do not drop it!!!

Stephen.
