Thanks Alexis. One more photo that shows the sanding off of the panel on the left side.

Coming together well there, Rick -

I did'nt know the panel is incorrect for the early version so will remember this when I eventually get round to building mine.

Dave

I have learned to " Never say Never" on WW1 aircraft but I have yet to see that panel on Any Photo of an early rounded wing XIII. Also No Shell? ejection ports on the lower fuselage sides which is good as Roden didn't add them  8)

This is looking good, Rick.  Appears you've passed me, but the Carolina boys are still leading the way!   ;D

How does the fuselage top fit?

Thanks Ken. Yep, the two Carolina branches of the SPAD Factory seem to be in full swing! As for the fit of the upper fuselage I have really only held it in position and the fuselage halves are not glued. Still to be determined is My best answer  ;D

I believe the SPAD is the WWI bird with the most complex cockpit and Roden and you displayed it nicely!

Cheers,

You have managed to build half an aeroplane in the short time I have been away Rick! I have heard much about this kit and am interested to see how a first class modeller gets on with it. You have certainly made a cracking start.

Great stuff Rick, I'm very interested in how this goes as I've added one to the stash. It's always a valuable forewarning, seeing a good modeller pioneering their way through an unknown  Roden Kit!!

I think it looks brilliant  as usual  Rick!

The cockpit looks beautifuly detailed and great job on the wings. You chose a beautiful subject to build. I think the Spads are elegant aircraft and apart from that, I am always a sucker for the beautiful Roden box-art.

Thanks Sandy! So far not too many issues. I hope to have some progress photos later today along with some build comments.

Thanks Richie. I am enjoying the build so far and am watching Kens build to see what someone can do with extra details and better skills  8)
