It must be old age... Or I need new reading glasses.

I see it now in post #293. I do not recogise it, but I think it must be WWII?

Ah, thanks for explaining Rick. No, I wasn't kidding. You can ask me anything about the Handley Page bombers of WWI, but other than that I know just a few WWII fighters and bombers and absolutely nothing about jet fighters. Well there it is.

So, I looked this one up. I looks cool in the 1959 camouflage, but I am sure the one you are building will look much cooler.

And frankly, I don't know how you keep track of all your simultaneous builds. It would drive me berserk!

Willem

Oh, and it's confirmed: I need new reading glasses...  :o

We all have our areas that we lack knowledge in Willem. I can't tell the difference between a HP 0100 and 0400  :o Today My plan is to give the Viper powered SE some bench time.

I'm not entirely sure, but there may be a clue hidden to the right of this picture  ;D:

Thanks for dropping by Zac and Alexis. To get things back on topic I started some basic work on the Roden Viper SE5a. Some framing added to the cockpit area of the fuselage and cut out the openings for the aileron control inspection panels.

Great to see you are tackling the Roden SE5a Rick. The Roden kit is unfairly dismissed by the Wingnuts fans but it's actually a nice kit that like all Roden kits rewards a careful approach and delivers a fine model- as you yourself have often shown with your other Roden builds.

I have this kit and started it some years ago but it stalled as other projects took priority, However your post has made me revisit this  model and so I shall follow your build with much interest.

Thanks Dave. I have built the WNW kit and "Almost" built three of the Roden kits. My curse hass been that I get them rigged or ready to rig and then disaster. The first Viper SE I built got knocked off of My display case just after rigging. No fault of the kit and it does look great when aqssembled. I Hope to break the curse with these two  8)

Rick - that thing with a hole in the back....where are the rigging and control wires? It is a pusher after all!

Good to see that you are giving a real aeroplane a go - I have a soft spot for the SE 5 - somehow it has a rugged but businesslike look about it.

Only I would choose to relax from building a pusher to doing another  ::) The rigging will be much easier on the big one with the hole in back  ;D As for the SE, it is one of My favorites also!
