Todays work: I re did the linen and stains on the interior, worked on the seat, and started to add details.

Hi Rick, I was allowed to get right up close to the original SE5a today and took a lot of detail photos which might be of interest. I've added them to the engine details thread. Hope you like them!

Great start, Rick -

I've built the Roden SE5a's in both Hisso and Viper engines and both are pretty decent kits that build up well from the box.  Look forward to seeing how you get on with this one.

Dave

Thanks Richie. Like all Roden kits it has it's challenges but overall it is quite nice!

Thanks for commenting! A very small update. I have started on adding the resin pulley inspection panels. If one is an excellent modeler and great at making "Precise" cuts the idea is that the resin parts are inserted and you are done. I am not that Modeler! So that being said lots of filling and sanding to make them look right. I will use the PE triangles to finish things off. The lower wing is filled and sanded and the upper is photographed before that process.

Nothing wrong with a bit of filling and sanding. Is the kit Roden plastic with resin and etch additions? It looks familiar.

Following along on this one, too.  Can you show the detail on the pulleys?
I don't know how many Encore kits you've done, but would you say they significantly improve the base Roden kit?
