Reanimation of dead topic... Here's some progress:
- fuselage closed, sanded (few evenings, disaster), painted. Camo pattern is coarse, finer is out of my range at the moment.

- wings... During painting the unit's stripes I've secured too narrow area. When masks were removed wings had light, happy beetroot tone all around. So, again - from the beginnig :) Now, it looks better:

- some small staff: cowling, propeller..

Next, I will paint rest of the unit's insignia on the fuselage and wings, then spray varnish, put decals, wash between panels and make some oil weathering.

I think the wood work looks quite nice - subtle and not over done.

Well done.

cheers, Graham

Wonderful work Graham - and you say this is your first aircraft kit...? Surely not :o ;D ;D

Question - how did you paint the metal nose cowl? It looks very good.

Cheers,

BC

Small progress, Flik's stripes are painted, decals are being set (I am not quite sure of this grammatic form  ::)).
Now I have a question: the rudder seems to be a difficult place for decals:

Does anyone remember if Eduard's decals are easy to be set on that location? If not, maybe I should paint german cross with white border? Despite that it's time consuming process...

Absolutely beautiful! 🙌

Eduard's decals are as good as any, so I don't think they will cause problems. On the other hand, decals in tricky areas can always cause problems. If you can paint the cross with less issues than what may arise from using decals, go for it!

Wonderful painting going on here! The translucency looks absolutely real and the woodwork is just beautiful.

The decal should go on just fine with micro sol and micro set. If it doesn't it would be easy to remove with tape leaving you free to paint it instead. Your work looks so skillful that you wouldn't have any trouble with either method.

Thanks for Your kind replies. I am not skillful - I spend a lot of time and sacrifice my mental health to reach acceptable results. ;)
Unfortunately I don't have Microscale liquids but only some Vallejo products which were for sure manufactured for quite different purposes.
Micro SOL is actually not available in Poland (at least I couldn't find it in any store) so I have to order it via Amazon or Ebay - two weeks of waiting. Because of that I am going to paint those symbols. If it fails - there's only one small rudder to repaint.
Richie - could You write anything more about "tape method" for decals?

Sure, when I have had decal problems and needed to paint markings instead I just stick Tamiya tape on the decal and then rip it off. They usually come off quite easily in one piece.
