Thanks Alexis  ;)

That’s helpful. Yes, I think I’ll do that, bigger bits on now and small strut brackets later.

Looking great! I would agree with Alexis, at least for the stitching. I think it would be very difficult to add after painting. For what it is worth I masked over the PE stitching on the Roden DR1 and the Decal/resin stitching on the RFC SPAD. I brushed a coat of future over them after gluing them in place. I don't know if that helped or not  ::)

Thanks Rick,

I might do that, should get in all the nooks and crannies! Primer will help too.

Morning all,

Primer & paint coming along. I sprayed the undersides in a white primer then masked up the ribs with the intention of them being lighter than the bleached linen, but when I peeled them off, they seem darker! I obviously didn’t do enough coats of white primer, so the grey plastic must have been showing through. Looks ok, but not what was intended!

The top sides got a light grey primer. Just really because the MRP paints are fairly translucent and it would probably require more coats again to cover the white with the PC12 (MRP do that too  ;) ).

Anyway, shades of linen aside, I’m on track and where I want to be so far (kiss of death I know  :P ).

Wonderful to the date and built at light speed. Great tip to deal with ghost seam lines, I will try with my next projects.

Might need to mask and spray again if you want to lighten up those rib tapes...  I wouldn’t worry so much my self.
Looking real nice.

Cheers,

Hugh

I like it Guy ,

Once the CDL is sprayed over the white it will tie it in even better . Did you use a gloss white for the underside ?
Flat base paints will cover better requiring less coats of paint giving better coverage  ;)

Thanks Alexis, I like you too   :-*

That’s a shot post CDL Alexis, so that’s the final look, I’ll know better for next time..

I’ve sprayed the PC12 and it’s a luxurious looking velvety chocolate! Yum

:o Exactly!

I used also the MRP PC12, but on white primer. I do not get this lovely chocolate, may be some layers more needed.

Cheers,
Frank

Thanks,

Managed to finish off the masked markings this evening, no major dramas for a change!

Frank - I did do it over grey and not white, but it only took one session - it does look a deep colour!
