That is some nice surgery on the engine and cowling. When I saw the pic in reply 88 I thought it would never gonna fit but you did a great job.

Thanks for dropping by guys with positive feed back  :)

Back in my early years in modeling adventures I built a lot of WW 2 subjects and used resin engines , pit's and other items plus a lot of scratch building . This is what I did on getting engines to fit in those builds . Might be a bit more filing but you lose less detail buy only remove a few rows of the cooling fins .

Really didn't get much done of anything today . While adding rivet detail to the chin pan I crack the join twice !!! Just in front of the resin wing  ::) That has been repaired and she is up on her legs drying as I type this .

Great work!
That engine seems a bit out of scale! My Small Stuff engine was also to big, but not that amount.

I was lazy and took brass for the oil tank right away, so I didn't have to paint that. And nothing looks like brass than brass.
But yes I know, I'm more the metal and you more the polystyrene worker  ;D ;D ;D

Nothing wrong with taking the easy way at all  ;) :)

Past few days have been productive in front of the bench . Main under carriage legs are wrap up and the tail skid got details as well . Rest of the fuselage details are on and the top wing struts are mounted . These are replacements made out of contrail strut . Middle wings are also pinned and test fitted and I can say thumbs up on that . just no pick yet . Only items left is doing something about the miss-match mount locations on the under side of the top wing and finish getting the engine put together .
