Rick, since you've established yourself as the consummate crafter of the SPAD, maybe you can add one more to your collection--the all black SPAD of Hans von Hammer's French nemesis, The Hangman:

Thanks Bob, but I will pass on this one. No More SPADS when these are done until I get the Nerve up for the 2 SPAD VII's I have to build for My collection

So that being said I have been carving struts from Bamboo. I plan to carve at least 4 more to make sure I have the best for My build!

I think I've finally decided, this one is my favourite! Those carved struts look perfect Rick, the little accident may just prove to be a blessing in disguise.

I've been away for a few days and just catching up now. The bamboo looks like a fine option for the struts. Given their shape, would round toothpicks work, as well?

Yes , probably with just a bit of carving The bamboo really carves easily so no regrets!

The new struts look better than the kit examples Rick. All three of your Spads look first class, but Like Richie I favour the Rickenbacker example the most.

That being said I like how the struts are coming along and like I said I sort of wish I had done them all this way

Thanks Andreas. Today I started the tedious task of applying the binding decals to the struts. Lots of them to do and it is time consuming
