I managed to get two out of the three upper wings mounted using My Modified kit struts although not without some issues. ( Touch Up Required) The Rickenbacker SPAD was another story. I was trying to make adjustments to the alignment and slipped causing both H struts to irreparably shatter! I am now carving replacements from Bamboo as I should have on all three!

RAGIII,
Sorry to hear about the shattered struts. The two successes look great.
I'm looking forward to the rigging operation still on the horizon.

Thats awful Rick, however the new struts will be even better yet. Model on.

They really do look beautiful Rick, you will have Eddie's bird sorted in no time too with the bonus that you get to do a bit of wood carving which is always fun.

Sorry for your shattered struts!  I really need to learn to do some in bamboo.  Birds look great, tho!
There are only two states to be in:  Queensland and blotto.

Thanks Kevin. The rigging will start once I carve the New struts for the Rickenbacker build and manage the wing assembly  :o I also will touch up some places where the upper wing mounting caused some glue blobs and removed paint  8)

Someone asked if I sprayed the clear coats but a quick look I did not find who asked. So the answer is Yes....All sprayed!

Oh, again a improvement by accident? ::)
Bamboo sound like a good option in some cases. Never used it. What do you use as source, Chopsticks?

Cheers,
Frank
