Really Rick it is a shame when you show us all of your excellent handiwork in the cockpits and then you go and cover it all up with the blooming pilot's seat!  I know that you know the details are all there, but can anyone else know and appreciate them if they cannot see them?

Stephen.

And here I was kicking myself for forgetting to install the seat belts before I closed the fuselage. I'm chalking it up to "Great minds think alike" :-)

I hate to disappoint you but the seat and other upper cockpit parts are not glued in place. Just posed for the photos  :-X I do have to admit to doing similar in the past!

Rick, did you take those photos in a museum?!  The seats look to be 1:1.  Beautiful Work!

Best,

Bob

Real good job with the seats Rick. I have read how things like the cushions are painted so as to show lighting and wear, but I can't visualize it for trying. I can see it and appreciate it, but brush in hand, I'm useless. Way to go X 3.

SP, the leather is not difficult. I use a mix of burnt umber and mars brown. I paint it over a base of acrylic. All I do after is add a bit of mars orange on high points and blend.

PS: If I want to make it look a little more worn I will blend in some yellow ochre and white.

Here is another Update that I really didn't intend to do. I am Very pleased with how the belts turned out on My first SPAD. I used some WW2 Pe and imagination  8) The seat is glued in now. The deck is also glued but of course the photos showing the upper fuselage in place are just placed there.

Lookin good Rick. Your Hobby Craft Spads seem to fit like my old Revell clunker only dreams about.

Thanks SP. Considering the age difference Revelle didn't do too badly!
