Sorry I have not dropped in recently Terri - mjo problems I am afraid.

What you are doing is marvellous. Wood finishes are never easy to get right in my experience but you are doing very well indeed.

Stephen.

Thanks guys for following and leaving positive comments ! :) :) :)
I spent part of the day working the details in the cockpit pit . Control lines are now in place and the buckles are stretched Q-tips.Ended up making a few details , pump and some other do-hicky-thingy-me-bob . It shows in the drawings I was able to have aid with . Rudder bar is almost finished up , few more coats of clear yellow/orange to go . Seat-belts are set to go for weathering now . Still have the instrument panel to get done been avoiding it up until now . I don't have anymore compass decals left in this scale so I will use the kit PE part which is still a work in-progress .

While waiting for paint to dry on the pit parts I drilled out the hole for the PE gun Barrel which was replace with plastic rod instead . I didn't want to deal with rolling and having a seam to deal with as well . Still have to add all the PE parts , but at least it is starting to take shape .

I didn't stop there , no sir ...I moved on with the extuast . The instructions call for a flesh mount so it's either pinning into place or drill out the holes so the whole part slides in forming a better join then pins . I drilled the holes and glad I did .

Nice touch Terri, those little extra touches always pay great dividends. Coming together very nicely!

Drilling all those holes will lead to a more realistic result.
That's the issue I have with injection molded parts.  An assembly of separate parts, molded as one unit, doesn't have separation lines.

Good attention to details Terri, I hope your battle damage heals quickly!

Too bad Eduard doesn't make 1/32 WW1 planes.  It could expand the range of available kits.
Other way around Ken - too bad, that WNW do not 1/48 kits ::)

On the other hand is Eduard creating a new Camel?!? The old one is not bad and there are sooo many other interesting biplanes without moulds!

Cheers,
Frank

Thank-you all so very much , you guys are the best  :)

Ken , Frank . Would be nice to see Eduard to something different other then a retool of the Camel . Their Hannover comes to mind . Other then the Koster kit and Eduards 20+year release . WNW doing 48 scale would be the cats meow !

Nice progress, hollowing exhaust pipes is one of the best ways to get authentic look.
And agree, I'm hoping as well someone will produce really new 1/48 WWI kits.
Ciao

Not sure what is going on here , but my post from yesterday on new progress are no longer here ??????

So here we go again .

Cockpit is finished and ready to be glued in place . Instrument panel is still a work in progress . The PE part is very flimsy so I back it with .15thou card and more gluing surface in the end .
