Thanks :)

Attached the lower wing and did the wires near the wing roots...top and bottom.

Top wings on...

Not overly clever to have the exhaust on already...ah well, I'll be careful. :-\

Thanks,

Dry brushed with the mask on and finished with a brush with the mask removed.
Since it was difficult to cut identical masks for both sides...I used the same mask for both sides.

Robin

Good work! I like the hand painted look! Using masks doesn't have to be trickier than this. /F

Great work!
I guess the 6 was hand painted, so your way to apply it makes it more authentic than a perfect decal.

With mounted wings this bird looks nice. :)

Really great work, Robin. What did you cut the 6 with? That kind of curl isn't easy with a standard blade.

Thanks all,

I used a standard blade. :)
A brand new one, but no handle. Cut on a piece of styrene sheet.

And while I'm here...

Rigging done....and actually enjoyed it! :o

Thanks  :)

With the rigging out of the way, I did the Spandau and "roll bar"...

Heavily modified the Spandau...

Prop done, landing gear done...

And thus she can stand on her feet :)

Left to do: some control surface cables, observer's mg, landing gear and claw break wires, bomb rack and most of the weathering.

More soon,

Robin  :)

Your next biplane will start and fly into the completed section soon :o
The result including rigging is really nice. Good luck with the last details!

The exhaust is still on ! Good for you Robin , or I'm I jumping the gun and you did have to glue it back on .....tell me it ain't so . I would have knock it off a few times already with very colourful words backing it up . Good thing my neighbour doesn't understand German ! The cat does though !

Thanks Terri and Frank :)
This build is a very smooth ride. No serious issues with the kit, apart from the lower wing fit both of you mentioned before.
I made small mistakes. Most I could fix, but not all. Lessons learned for the next one.
It was a nice surprise I could build a C.IIa final production version. In fact...the kit is a late (and final) C.IIa.
The WNW manual helped me a lot

Terri....the exhaust stayed on....a makeshift jig kept it safe. :)
I now look forward to make the observer's mg. 15 parts! :o

Next on the bench will be Julius Buckler's Albatros D.III "Mops", but more about that later.

Robin,
You've done a great job to this point and your Build Log is a pleasure to follow, a great model!

"I made small mistakes. Most I could fix, but not all. Lessons learned for the next one."

I've been building model aircraft for now, sixty-five plus years, and this comment of yours is absolutely appropriate to my efforts; there is no "perfect" model, trust me! As long as you enjoy the experience that's the true measure of success. :)
Cheers,
Lance
