I don't want to look a gift SPAD in the mouth but lil B6732 will be taking a hiatus while I tackle some other projects. I'll be honest in that the fit issue took the wind out of my sails somewhat but seeing that Monty had an identical issue makes it easier to swallow. I just need to take some space and time to think and plan.

But to paraphrase the immortal words of the T-800 Terminator: We'll be back!

Although in a Way I am sorry to hear you are stepping away from your SPAD build, sometimes We All have to do just that! I will certainly follow your build when you return to the thread.

I just need a day or two to contemplate my next steps. The build will continue!

No pressure then? ;D
I've unexpectedly been called into work over the past few days but tomorrow is free for SPADing! Expect some positive progress over the weekend.  8)

Thanks Rick! Unfortunately we have had some very foul weather this weekend so it'll be difficult to get sufficient ventilation for glue fumes etc, but I'll see what I can manage

Hey! Great stuff, Zac! I'm glad you overcame those issues and made a great job of it! I'm very happy to be of help - but now you have almost caught up to me! I note you don't have the wingtips on yet, but if you carefully trim and sand the mating surfaces you can end up with a lovely join that needs only a smear of putty.... Regards, Marc.

Thank you all! It was a wonderful feeling when things finally lined up! There is an overhang on the rear fuselage but careful sanding should take care of that.

You're about 36hr too late! But I may yet remove them and try again - I had resigned myself to some filler but not yet committed.

So pleased you've successfully overcome this midstream setback (the kind I am very aware of!) and wrestled order out of chaos. I'll keep your build in hand for my attempt at some stage in the future. Looking excellent now and every inch a SPAD!

Marc's advice will be heeded...albeit during round two! ;D Here's "version one" of the lower wingtips:

Removing, sanding and dry-fitting these and the top wing's tips will be the next job, along with sorting out the top fuselage overhang (pics to follow when I do same)  8)

Good to see more progress. I don't remember how much work and filling I did on the tips. I admire that you are going to go back, separate, and fix the fit. I would have just filled and sanded !
