Absolutely amazing work! You should be making sets in the movie industry!

Now I know why you thought my LVG was too clean  ;D ;D ;D!

Looking forward to the final composition.

Cheers

I haven't checked on this build for a while, it's truly stunning. And your base/sea work is amazing as well. Thanks for sharing how you do everything, it will be both inspirational and helpful.

As usual I am late to the party!

Thank you so much for showing us one of your attempts that did not work. Currently I am struggling with my build - nothing seems to be going right at the moment and I think that it is all my fault/incompetence. To see someone with your skill and talents having to do something again is most re-assuring - and helpful too. It gives those of us with lesser abilities the encouragement to keep trying - the results of your efforts are truly inspirational.

To comment on any specific detail would not be appropriate - but I cannot find words adequate to express my appreciation of your work. Outstandingly marvellous will have to do!

Stephen.

Manni, wow. Your diorama and weathering skills warrant a book. I live close by the ocean and those mussels are ripe and ready! The seaweed, algae, bricks, wood, all of it. Regards Pete in RI

Wow, thank you, my friends for the very welcome feedback.
After some vacation and too much heat, here comes a small mini update.

With the wire twisting method and some green stuff I created a small crippled tree (birch). The smallest branches were made of natural twigs.

Leaves were punched from real leaves and glued on.

Later the tree gets behind a stake.

Above the brick wall a concrete collar is used, this was painted in various shades of grey and brown and then chipped with green and black.
I bent a ladder out of wire.

Now I applied pigments and with a nice yellow irregular color to create a flaked impression.

Now here and there some grasses (lower part is plumber-hemp, upper part are the tips of wheat ears) as well as some dirt and moss were used.

Hope you like it, see you soon,
Manni

That looks incredibly real and alive, Manni.
Explicit in the sixth picture you have the feeling to hear and smell the salt water of the surfing waves.

Very convincing and perfectly executed work.
Bravo

Bravo!

Manni,
I'm at risk of repeating myself, but ........
Your detailing is extraordinary; as Bertl, Pete, and Filip point out your background has come alive and your techniques are worthy of a book! This is an exceptional piece of work and I am in absolute awe of your skills as illustrated here.
Cheers,
Lance

These pics show real environment. Stop fooling us by copying this into your working room as a background!  ;)
