Darn hard to compose a response when you are speechless.

There is something fundamentally amiss with a society which forces it's modelers to work for a living.

Amazing Manni,

Makes my effort at a diorama rather sad!

I think the base would win awards on its own without the HB! Superb work and thanks for sharing how you do things, lots of inspiration and ideas that I hope to be able to use.

Nothing to add to that - I am equally speechless.

Please would you follow the suggestion and write a book, then we lesser mortals (artists) might be able to follow where you lead.

Stephen.

These pics show real environment. Stop fooling us by copying this into your working room as a background!  ;)

I agree!

Just amazing, Manni!

Hello folks,
Thank you a lot for your very kind words. This is always overwhelming.
I did a lot of hard work on my project here. The bridge was planked, aged and covered with moss. The airplane was pinned with the bridge. Here you can see the result so far.

under the starboard wing will be the dwelling of the old pilot. For this there will be some more windows, tarpaulins and corrugated iron. I scrach built the windows completely, engraved the wood grain with the tip of the craft knife, and painted them with different shades of blue.

Here a little bit of stuff for the dwelling.
An old sideboard with books and canned food.

A gramophone with some marching music records.

A few suitcases collected together and an improvised oven.

Here is his bicycle for the transport of collected "treasures".

and a little scrap for the dingy corner at the lower footbridge.

Next comes a tree that has been squeezing through the plates for the past 3 decades and the rest of our forgotten pilot's dwelling.

That is all for now, but more will come,
Bye,
Manni

Simply lost for woords. That is modelling as I would like to be able to do - but sadly cannot. It makes me appreciate your skills all the more.

Manni,
Each of your individual components is a model in it's own right, and without exception absolutely beautifully crafted. The composite of all of them is truly a work of art, a magnificent production indicative of your exceptional modelling skills. You can be very proud of this work, that of an artist quite honestly!
Cheers,
Lance

Hi Manni,
I like to do small detail work on my models but this model display is just crazy!!!
Having just completed the Hansa-Brandenburg I'm guessing this model is huge!!

Way to go,

Mike

That one at last puts you next into the row of P. O. Lund and all those other masters in diorama building. No doubt there will be a "collected works" book on your dios, starting with the Gotha and ending here. And I will be in the queue to buy one!
