You are building another gem, Xan. I like your work very much, from research, detailing, modifications to the delicate spot-on paint finish. A pleasure to behold!

Wonderful thread - thank you much!! In particular, thanks for the link to the Paris digital library https://argonnaute.parisnanterre.fr- what a treasure chest.

As much as I admire your work, I'm disappointed in the many shortcomings of the CS resin.

As true as it is we shouldn't forget that this is an old, oop CSM resin kit that was produced when Copper State Models still had their location in Texas and was run by totally different people. It has nothing to do with the today's strandards of Copper State Models...

Exactly!  This was one of Eric Hight's early kits and for the time, was pretty good.  It has no more in common with today's CSM than Merlin has with WNW.

Hi ,
there is a while i didn't post anything...
Meanwhile a learn the picture plane was not en early aviatic C1 as I thought , but an Aviatic BII...
the principal change is the engines but BII was not armed and there is a few diferences in the ringing.
Other consequence, the diorama i thought with those figs is no more possible...

So i will return to the first idea with one of the dragons who appears in the picture...

I will use a 1939 Polosh cavalry and this head a figurinist friend of mine did for me (thanks Aitor!)

 This picture give quite informations.

1) I change my minfd about the wooden stick i painted ? i think they are more surely black.
i use a plotter and cit 0.5mm tires in black chaterton...

2) the tire are light grey... but I can touch the wheels so i will let them in black...

3) there is a electricity generator in the undercarriage.
i will use the G4 one.

4) the propeler is a Reschke (thank you andreas).

i find in the net an Albatross BII propeler wich have the same engine than the aviatic BII, props were surely the same.

with a little help from Paint:

i will try to do it in wood, we will speak about that later....
and last thing I dirted the radiator and engine panel; even if pics show them cleaner it perlit to integrate them better in the model...

Right now I am working on the wings...

See you soon

Great update Xan, it's really looking good and almost completed. It's too bad that you have to change plans for the Diorama but your new plan looks good. Great weathering overall but particularly on the under surfaces. I like the effect, it's a very nice model. 8) 8)

Lance

Great balance of just enough weathering on white.

She's truly stunning, Xan!  The painting and weathering are beyond compare.  Can't wait to see her rigged.
Cheers,
Bud

Xan! This is really a very eye-pleasing model. It looks fantasic. I like most the big crosses on the top wing.
