Rumpler C.IV - Polish (1/32, Wingnut Wings)
« on: March 09, 2018, 02:45:21 AM »
The release of Rumplers by WNW did not cause my interest at the beginning. Then I found information that a few of these machines were used in Poland post-war but did not make a career - were deemed to be difficult to fly and were quite soon removed from service. This made my interest even smaller.
But then, last year, when WNW held the warehouse cleaning after water damage the issue of Polish Rumpler returned. And on that ocassion, attracted by the significantly reduced price, I decided to buy a copy of the late version kit - to fit the aircraft photographed in May 1919 at Cracow Rakowice airfield

This is probably the only photographed Polish C.IV. It attracted my attention due to its natural material colours - I supppose it will make for a fine looking unusual model.

I have started working on it just after I have completed Dolphin.

At the moment the innards are basically ready for buttoning up the fuselage. I have added the control cables to be run through the entire fuselage to the openings at the tail as well as the fuel selector switches on the instrument board. There is also a control lever set in the observer cabin, where the linkage is missing - if I find the photos I may still add this, too.

Extraordinary work in the cockpit, my friend!  This is going to be a real beauty with the natural finish!
Cheers,
Bud

How good to see you on a Rumpler, it's a great plane that is not very often modelled despite the great WNW kits. I am keen on following your progress.

A fantastic made interior, even if incomplete yet, and control cables running through entire hull - it is already a Przemol’s trademark. In addition, an interesting topic and additionally regarding aircraft which the model is rather not so often seen on this forum.
I am waiting for a continuation patiently,

Thank you for watching and kind comments.

And afterwards

Some work on the engine, holes drilled for Taurus gear - oil breathers, spark plugs and valve springs. Timing gear to be replaced.

WOW, Przemek you are a modelling sprinter of some sort... The Dolphin was completed in what? two weeks and you`ve got another build...
As always - an eye candy. It`s a pleasure to follow your WIP threads and to learn in the process.
Best regards
Filip
