Some browsers seems not to load such pictures from Google into the page for some strange reason. If the picture loads then it is not a problem with access rights.
For me Firefox and Chrome are working, on the company machine also in MS Explorer.

RAF-Wires


Today I have some macros for my friends of micro mechanics!
This update handles the rigging with RAF wires. I will use the flat EZ-line, but I need some mounting. For the Brisfit I developed a new system, which combines ideas from my D.H.2 Stripdown and my Sopwith Pup.

At first I need 16 plates on the struts. A rest of a PE set drilled with 0,5mm, cutted, put on a drill shaft and soldered. For the risk of loosing some I added two more.



This pack was milled in form:



The size matches the parts of the CSM Dolphin, the wide finger is for the double wire.



The parts are separated. During the desolder I got some 4-parts pack, so I removed some fingers.
After that I added 0,5mm brass pipes. On the picture 52 drill holes are missing, done already. Unless I am very much mistaken the symmetric parts should match. Only the "flying wires" are double, the landing wires are singles.



To the strut the pipe is very short, just to keep a small distance.



The connectors made of 0,5mm brass pipe are in preparation, slotted and crimped. Some holes are missing. For the struts I need 52, 36 are done.



On the end I made a thickening of 0,7mm pipe, tinned and mounted with 0,2mm nickel silver. Only one prototype is done.



With a plugged strut it looks great. This mounts can be prepared and mounted with the struts. For the rigging I just need to plug in EZ-line and secure it with CA.



In 1:48 one can hardly find a more original solution?
With that preparation I hope to be able to finish the rigging task fast.
Now I just need to create some more pipes ...
