Nieuport 11, 1:48 Eduard
« on: May 25, 2017, 07:11:07 AM »
With my first post I like to show a Nieuport 11 in 1/48 which I finished end of last year.
A Eduard weekend edition was used and provided the decals, but PE and a engine kit from Small Stuff was added. The turnbuckles and the Lewis are from Gaspatch. The struts, air screw and skid assembly are self made from different kind of wood.
The painting was done with Alclad and Gunze, some oils are used for weathering.

Hope you will like my work!
Frank

Some details:

The engine on a 1 Euro-Cent coin

The wooden air screw

Welcome to the forum Frank and I must say, what a magnificent introduction you have made. Your model is absolutely superb, the overall finish is excellent and your attention to detail is second to none, this is a very eye-catching paint scheme. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Thank you all for the warm welcome!

your attention to detail is second to none,
I was just a little confused by the forum software - I was not aware of, that one has to click to expand the picture and just hoped, that you can see all the nice details on the small pictures.

I started seriously modeling of this kind not long ago, after years of RC modeling. Mostly 1/48 due to size, because I show my models in a wall mounted glass cabinet. It is big, but due to restrictions not very deep - WNW models are simply to big for it. But beside 1/48 I also soldered those famous stripdowns in 1/72 8)

So stay tuned for the next models,
Frank
