Absolutely marvelous, Frank!  Did you make the tail skid assembly from laminated wood as well?
Cheers,
Bud

Bud, yes you are right, it is made form pear. The flat metal spring is a battery contact from a old cordless mouse, because other plates like brass are not able to carry the model. I have to use a diamond cutting wheel to bring the spring into that small form.
I started to scratch this after the model was painted, just the "wooden block" at the end was not. And I was not willing to wait a weak for the oil painting, so I started to work with wood again. Sometimes it is easier, if you have an idea earlier.

Cheers,
Frank

Gregory, thank you very much.
I don't see me as that "mastermodeller", more a "newbie with good progress in learning", because I still learn new things with every model. I try to keep and/or improve working methods, but find also new tasks with every new model.

I know the main page since some time, but have not realized, that there is also a forum. On the other hand I'm active in a german forum with build reports an so on, because it is much easier for me to describe those things in my own language.

Cheers,
Frank

what a great model ;Dtell me how did you do the edging around the upper and lower wings, did you mask it yourself or did you use the eduard mask. I would like to do the same kit and was just wondering the best way to go about it. :D

Thx! The rips are masked with tape, but for the edging I have used the mask set. It is a bit tricky to get it on correctly, as one side is often wider than the opposite side :-\ After what seemed like 100 positioning tries it looks ok.
If you have small tape for the outline this will work too.  Or do the straight passes with normal tape and fill the corners with matching circles.

Cheers,
Frank

thank you frank that's what I thought about the eduard mask, but your idea of doing the straight edges then circles for the corners sounds better thank you I shall give that a try. ;D
