Ps

The wings are a little warped - so they appear with an anhedral droop. I've taped them to the correct angle and put in a hot cupboard - hopefully they'll stay like that...

Guy, did you have to shim the fuse halves to get the top to fit evenly?

That is a brilliant little cockpit, guy! Some great wood tones! And progress is sound... You're right to get the dihedral right at this point, it saves a lot of trouble later.. Regards, Marc

Thanks Marc,

Yep, I'm already dreading the top wing attachment  :o in fact, I'd be very grateful for any tips and how people go about the struts and wing gluing & alignment? The struts are so tiny with the faintest of holes on the wings... no snap fit like Wingnuts here. I'd be very interested in the correct procedure? Luckily, they don't have a stagger...

Warren, I did dry fit the top as you suggested and seemed close enough but once glued in place it did require a degree of shimming to both sides. I think my dry fit was a tad optimistic!

Thanks Des  ;)

Had quite a spurt today and have got all the initial painting done. The undercoat went on last night:

Then the 5 colour camo:

And 6 if you count the undersides (little paint overflow here but corrected after the photos):

All colours are custom mixes from Mr. Color. I've even managed to get a gloss coat on so decals next I think (although I'm away again this week :( ).

In planning my rigging I've drilled holes through the lower wing and halfway through the top - the plan being to attach to the top wing prior to fixing in place and then to pull taut through the lower wing and make good the paint. Still not entirely sure how it'll end up but at least I now have a plan... I've also bought some super fine monofilament (0.06mm).

Thanks for looking,

Guy

Ps still need help re my earlier question on wings if anyone can offer advice?

Truly remarkable work in this tiny scale, Guy!

Guy,
I'm sorry pard, but I've not had to correct a bent wing like that, so I'm no help.

Now, I'm certainly interested in your Gunze Mr. Color mixes you created for this. I'm sure I'm not alone.

Could you be so kind as to share, please?

Wow! That was fast! Very nice, clean work, too! I'm way too slow.

Fine and quick progress, Guy. Your are building a fine model.
And yes, do not hesitate to do double flying wires, it is perfectly doable, I have not specified it clearly in my presentation but 0.3mm holes can be drilled close enough one to another to get the starting points for decently spaced double lines.

Very clean and brilliant work. Go for double wires. You will also master this task.

Thanks chaps,

Yes, I've drilled the holes for double wires, but only at the front...

Thanks Warren, I think I've fixed the warped wings, it was more about the method people use to fix the struts & top wing?

The colours are variations of:

Mr Color 43, 45, 69, 70, 92, 119, 122, 312....

Hope that helps.

Guy
