That should help!
I use a similar method and drill both wings. For my SPAD I used 4thou stainless wire for the two sets of stagger wires instead of drilling. I also drilled the struts instead if the wings on this one as the wires attach higher up.

the eduard 1/72 spad xiii is one of the nicest kits ive seen in that scale. you should have a nice time with it. i like messing with different scales for different reasons not the least of which is variety.

Yes, quite a jump from 1/4 to 1/72! Looking great so far! I still have not added turnbuckles (after a one time attempt with Citadel paint) but, I am confident that it can be done. I used Uschi super fine thread for mine. I had never done rigging before, but it went well.

Thanks for the tips  ;)

Cockpit now completed...

As usual, the macro photos are harsh! Even worse in 1/72nd  ??? In my defence it really is tiny compared to 1/32:

The kit is very detailed for this scale. There are even decals for the instrument faces and photo etch bezels... Although the decals are smaller than a pin head  :o

Outstanding work on this small masterpiece, my eyes cannot handle this scale anymore.  Look forward to your next posting.

That looks great, and very inspirational for when I get to my dual-combo!

Guy, are you going to recreate the doubled rigging? I'm trying to make a jig to recreate that. An old friend of mine from the WWI Modeling List (Paul) is on here, and I believe that's how he did it.

Prze, I'd like to see your PowerPoint as well.

Looks outstanding to me Guy! The Macro photos don't show anything that doesn't look great.

It looks damn good from here!
For the flying wires, I ran the wires either side of the thinned down centre point of each mid strut, then added the cross piece afterwards.

Lovely work on the interior.

Ian, I've wondered about doing that, didn't know if I could make it work.

Guy, it looks lovely.

As Rick has written I cannot see anything wrong so far - in fact quite the reverse. Super fine detail.

Marvelous cockpit! You did realy a greatjob on that.
