Wow, Andreas!  That is some seriously tasty paint and decal work!  And the photography ain't too shabby either.  Brilliant in every way.
Cheers,

Again thank you all very much for your positive comments!!!

They both look superb! Is that the kit wood grain decal?

No it's not. I neither like the grain of the kit wood decals (too overdone in my opinion, not to scale) nor the fact that they are printed onto white decal paper. At last they are quite thick. I used Uschi van Der Rosten Wood decals, I have a custom to them meanwhile ( it's the fourth plane that I covered with them) and it works fine for me. They are thin, quite strong and printed on clear decal paper that makes e. g. preshading possible. I also didn't use nail decals on this one, I gave the engraved nails a strong wash with almost dry oils (rubbed into the holes, then the excess gets wiped off with a cotton pad) under the wood decals.

Lance, Krow113, thank you very much!

hi Borsos!
i like your planes very much! in particular I picked up the leather ring arund the cockpit : just beautiful! you painted and weathered it very realistically. what colour did you use?
ciao
edo

Sorry Edo, I missed your question. I used an AK painting set for leather and belt equippment. It contains a normal leather brown, a bright orange, a dark and a bright tone to lighten or darken respectively and a steel and brass color. I use it for all paint jobs where ever I replicate leather. It doesn't matter if it's a brown or almost black leather. I am a big fan of such color sets

Wow, you are a real master modeller. It looks so perfect all the colout tones you choose are warm, I almost can smell the wood and the leather combined with a hint of engine oil.

Thank you very much, guys!!! :)

I am finally back on this one and prepared all the flying surfaces of both kits for the decalling.
First pic shows the preshaded upper side of the lower wing.

Second pic shows the stabilizer finished with AVIATTIC linen decals and postshading . The pic doesn't show the great effect of these decals properly. I really love them. But I run out of them and had to order more. Due to the size of the model one needs four sheets for an Albatros B II. And there are two pairs of wings to be covered...

Best regards
Borsos

Amazing work, Andreas!  I can't stop staring at these photos!  Yes, those Aviattic linen decals are fantastic.
