Outstanding work, don't change a thing.  I wish my 1/32 models looked this good.

Everything you've done to this point is truly superb, from the wood grain to the tail skid! This looks like a master modelers work in 1/48 scale.  I sincerely hope that you'll continue building WWI subjects.  This one's surely a treat.
Cheers,
Bud

As I'm also building an Albatros in 1/72, I can't help but be impressed by both the speed and quality of this build. It is really gorgeous. If mine turns out half as good is this, I'm a happy guy!

Thanks to all!! Jeroen says speed?? I'm glad it seems that way. I always seem to make things take way too long. :-\

After the last update, I added the PE access cover on the bottom, & drilled various holes. I think the smaller ones down the center are drain holes & forgot what the others are for.

I finally bit the bullet & started working on the machine guns during the week. The cooling jackets are nice, but the other PE parts included with the kit were a bit bizarre, so I ended up making side details with styrene, superglue-soaked paper & wire. The barrel is a guitar string & I made the muzzles by "machining" a small styrene rod chucked in my Dremmel. None of the parts are glued together with the exception of the cooling jacket parts.

This morning, I glued everything together, & sprayed a mix of Tamiya flat & gloss black. After that, I rubbed a graphite pencil over everything. In the photos, they appear to be too silver, but I can tone that down by removing some of the graphite. In the process, I felt that the paint was still a bit soft, so I'll deal with toning them down later on.

Thanks,
Steve

When are you going to tell the truth: that this is actually 1/32 scale?

Actually it would not matter which scale it is in - it is simply beyond words to describe.

Stephen.

Compared to my glacial speed, to me you're going pretty quick. But that does not affect the result, those guns look really great. I've shied away from PE cooling jackets so far, but those really make me want to try... like you wrote, this is one area where PE can really improve over plastic :)

Agree with the comments about the MGs.  Outstanding work at this scale (or any scale).
