Like others have said I would be really proud of this level of detail in 1/48 or 1/32.

Well, Steve, how to say it...

You have tremendous modelling skills, I especially admire your sense for painting. The woodgrain is one of the best I have seen so far in 1/72.

My hats off to your skills, sir!

As one who builds in this scale, I can only say that I take my hat off to you. As others have written this could easily be 1/32 scale and would still be exceptional. That it is in God's Own Scale is amazing beyond belief. Please continue to show us more - this is truly inspiring work.

Stephen.

Thanks again, you all are too kind!

Last week, I was able to close up the fuselage & fill in seams here & there as well as attach the vertical stabilizer & tail skid. Today, I attached the lower wing.

Next up will be repairing the blue & white stripes that were messed up by seam repair.

Thanks,
Steve

Cajun, you are lucky indeed sir.

Steve, as someone who aspires to this level of work in 1/72nd, I for one would appreciate if you would share some of your techniques and methods. I really do like what you did with that exhaust.

Thanks, Warren!
The exhaust pipe was painted flat black, & then I rubbed a graphite pencil over some of the areas, rubbing with my finger afterwards to soften it a bit. Then, more graphite & burnt sienna watercolor for the rust, followed by a light coat of matte clear. Matte clear lessened the metallic look of the graphite, so I added a little more graphite afterwards.

Over the weekend, I sprayed a mix of Tamiya Desert Yellow & white, then proceeded with wood grain using a burnt sienna water color pencil.

After the grain was drawn, I used a damp brush to tone the grain down a bit. Areas behind the wing still need to be done at this point.

I had a few problems here & there, but hopefully those will be not as noticeable once the tinted clear coats & weathering are applied.

I agree with, Des.
Some of the best work I've seen in 1/72.
Keep up the great work!
