I'm overdue for an update on this Build as it's getting close to complete. Close is a relative term considering my documented snail's pace on the progress front.

I've completed the Flight Control rigging and added the bombs to make her into a bomber. I'm pleased to say all but 4 wires of the rigging are done, it's been a long, and at times, trying experience taking this one to the inpenetrable wire cage state!
The first step was mounting the flight control surfaces and control horns:

I tried to work from closest in to outside to avoid breaking any previous installations. EZ Line was used for the rudder, tailskid, and elevators to preclude warping the lattice tail, and the ailerons used .003mm mono line and Modelkasten 1:48 line.

I lost count of how many times I pinged off the rudder by being clumsy; on the good side I only broke two lines and had to replace them.

With that completed I moved on to the bombs which had been completed earlier. The 20 lb. Cooper bombs proved an easy task.

Not so the single center line 112 lb. HERL Bomb, the rack proved a real test, particularly the rigging and the forward verticals had to be widened almost 4 mm to fit. This assembly took me through an entire afternoon of bench time!

The rigging, working in such a tiny confined space gave plenty of opportunity for exercise of my "King's English"!

This shot should have come earlier, showing the splitter coupling for the rudder/tailskid lines.

I almost forgot Stefan had asked for a couple of close ups of the line connections; here they are about as brutal as Macro Photography can present them!

Next come the "fiddley bits", the step, Bomb sight, Lewis Gun, and all the night illumination devices and bomb toggle cables etc. Hopefully the next update can announce her completion!
Cheers,
Lance
