Gorgeous work on the interior, Marc!
Cheers,
Bud

I agree with my Amigo Bud! The interior colors look perfect and you have achieved what looks like a perfect fit with the interior, fuselage, and wings! Well done.

Regards and enjoy your modelling!
Marc

Gorgeous! I love this photo, very pleasing to the eye with the warm natural wood of the propeller and then all the cold metallics.

Sorry I have been a little scarce lately, Life has definitely got in the way... There's not much progress on the Pup, I have sprayed some black but it's all wet and I can't do photographs yet, that will come! A big Thank You to Przemo, Far East, Des, Martin Lukas and Bud for looking in and the very encouraging comments - it really helps! I left a photograph out before I closed up: here you can see the bracing wires (just) on the frame, made from stretched sprue. Very little can be seen after everything is closed up, this is enough for me!

Marc

Continuing to look terrific! I really like the instrument panel! Your wires look great and it is nice to know someone else still uses stretched sprue on occasions  8)

Very nice! I have both pups in my stash and I will be certainly returning here to steal many of your techniques!

I've somehow missed this Build until just now. Great interior work, Marc, and well done on the "fit", this one can be tricky around the lower wing/fuselage join and the cockpit but you've aced it. Looking forward to following your progress now that I've found it!
Cheers,
Lance

Time to get back to this really enjoyable project - I just wish I had more time to devote to it1 (Don't we all?). But Thank You to everyone who posts such encouraging comments... I am very flattered. Thank You Martin for your great comment. And Thank You Des for your encouragement and running such a great site. Rick, your comments are always appreciated and yes, the instrument panel turned out so much better than I expected, I hope I can do it again sometime! I was brought up on stretched sprue, and it mostly works for me... so I carry on using it! James, praise from you is a great honour. When I go through your Roland thread, I can see now that THAT  is modelling! Hi Lance, I didn't have any fiit problems really, in spite of warnings and some problems that others have had. But I did clean up the parts (mould lines etc) very well and made absolutely sure paint didn't get into any joints, and the fit is tight! Thank You for checking in...

So I'm getting some paint on... first the black on the cowling and nose panels, first a quick spray of cheap hairspray, then Tamiya acrylic black - a matt and shiny mix, then attacked with a scouring pad... It looks a bit stark and may even be overdone, but I can tone it down with washes or even blast a shiny layer of black over it again!

Another view of the cowling in a different light...

What do you think?

Regards,

Marc

That looks perfect! I really like the effect and should try the technique myself in time. Keep them coming!

Marc,
Great job. I like the worn effect on the cowling. You mentioned that you laid down a coat of black, then hairspray followed by Tamiya black. Was the first black coat Tamiya as well or does it need to be an enamel?
Thanks,
v/r,
Rob
