This is a beautiful build, wonderful work. The Pup will probably be my first or second WNW so a thread like this is a wonderful inspiration.

Sorry for missing your build log, Marc!  You are doing
a wonderful job of an aeroplane dear to my heart.  I
really like your wood treatment as well as the superb
seatbelts.  Looking forward to the next updates, my friend. :D

Cheers,
Ernie :)

Very nice, Marc. You're making excellent progress and one day, when I get round to my Pup, I'll be following your example.

Best wishes
Nigel

Thank You Everyone for the interest and replies, my Thanks to Martin, Rag III, KiwiZac, Des, Ernie ( You can never be late!), Nigel, it really is a great kit, Michael and Bud! The interest and comments make the modelling real fun and keep me going.

This photo shows how I break things down to sub-assemblies and try to do all the similar colours at once: here all the metal parts are undercoated in silver before I attack them with other shades:

Also all the wood parts are undercoated; Then I started assembling the cockpit frames after doing the usual wood effect on them: At this stage they are only dry fitted, but the fit is so good they just stay together! Also I mask the small pins on the struts as I know just a layer of paint will affect the fit;

Even the seat is dryfitted... I think these views are a little out of order, really....

But then I tried fitting everything together to make sure it fitted: Sure enough, there were places I had to remove paint and trim just a bit to get the fuselage sides to fit around the cockpit parts: Best to check first at this stage before committing to glue!

But some progress made...

Regards,

Marc

Outstanding wood tones on your fuselage longerons, formers and struts! Your work on painting the wood stringers over the CDL is excellent. I am looking forward to seeing your further work on the metal!

Thank You, Rag II, Des. Matin and Gregory for your replies, it's always good to have encouragement as you progress! Although I may not be as good a modeller as others on this site, I enjoy the company and the good advice! The next step is a bit difficult to show in photographs, maybe I can describe it better: The fit of the fuselage parts around the cockpit structure is very tight: I think some one has already alluded to a fit problem in this kit: Actually, it all fits OK, just the thickness of a coat of paint can throw it off! Firstly, make sure the cockpit frame sides fit perfectly on the lower wing assembly. You may have to scrape the paint off the mating surfaces! Then slide the cockpit sides towards the mid-line to check they fit: Take paint off if needed! Then take them off and try the fit of the cockpit top over the frames: Here I had to trim a little until everything fitted. Only then can everything be glued - shown here with the cowling and prop just dry-fitted...

Regards and enjoy your modelling!
Marc
