Hi y'all!
That's my new build.
I'll be off a few days in Venice (Italy

) and I have a few things to finish first, so this first post should not have a new post before a little while.
But I just couldn't resist sharing with you the first part; the wonderful Aviattic's engine dedicated to that bird.
Ok, it's a beauty. Lots of tiny pieces (individual spark plugs and the like), some photoetched pieces if you want the propeller removed, blablabla, nothing that you probably haven't heard before about this work of art. But other than that, how many of you have built a resin engine, beautifully detailed and such, and be extremely annoyed about it not fitting the cowling?
Nothing of the like with this baby. It FITS THE ORIGINAL COWLING!

It may sound trivial for some, but for me, it felt so nice not having to destroy the integrity of that engine, that it was just the icing on the cake. So here it is.
A base of Alclad aluminium. Some wash of black on the cylinders, followed by some touches of blue and red transparent gloss. Some Tam smoke on the rest with some touches of tobacco acrylic ink. Added the spark wires and that's it. Ready to...be put aside till the end of the build I guess.

I'm now in the process of painting the wooden parts (seats, propeller, and interior) and experimenting on that specific wood varbnish. Think I found something satisfactory...

Ciao
