Very nice update, Xan. Your Scout is coming along beautifully! I just received an order of the Archer rivets. How do you like using them? Is there anything special I need to know, or are they like regular decals?

I think it's better put them upon surfacer and not directly upon the plastic.
you will have to take care , they are quite delicate. when they are dry, protect them with a new surfacer coat

Hello!
before painting I had a few things to do:
put the attachment:

it's russian "gonza" photoetched for the attachments and part "bristol scout" photoetched for the turnbuckles.

same thing on the upper side:

then I started to paint, using a mix of seal colour and white...

I did'nt like to much the result: too much stone color, too cold.
however I forgot some elements so it was not a problem:

the wooden little stick along the fuselage and a little cyano to make volume in the turnbuckles:

the joystick end who appears under the fuselage:

then I repainted with radome color mixed with white:

in this pic you can compare the two colors in the wings:

here is what the David and mike granddad reproduction actually look like:

the wing is very transparent , much more than the old pics shows

anyway I want to try a transparency effect under the wings...

I used "earth" paint, and overspray ith the same base mix. Well the result is not perfect , but the work is not ended, there are two different color coat to be add.

than I passed a new coat with radome pure, particulary toward the trailing edges:

I have to add a sand brown coat, now.

in the upper side I will repaint the ribs in a very light color:

(this is my 1264)

Xan

Xan, your work with color modulation is truly brilliant!  This is certain to bed another one of your gems.
