Thank you everybody for watching and comments.
RAG, the prop was painted, the layers pattern masked, then some additional touches with different colours were done with a fine brush. Finally the coat of clear orange. However, it is still not completed, I still have to polish it and cover with clear gloss before the Axial logo decals and the prop boss gets its metal colour.
How did you replicate the wood showing through the worn black paint? Looks very convincing.
Cheers,
Bud
To me it is not fully satisfying. But if you like it, I can sell you the technique

Simple - drybrushing the semi-dried beige brown paint pigment along the edges. Just this. Still, looks better than solid dull black.
So, you are using your camera's flash for making your photos?
Stefan
Only for in-progress shots. I do not have enough space at home to have the proper photo set with lighting, background, camera tripod, etc. open all the time. And I am too lazy to set it for each update.
plus two further ones destined for fuselage-top wing cables.
Good that you are doing those as well - it seems they are forgotten too often on those Roland builds, which i find very strange, as they are so obvious (if you take care to examine the fuselage thoroughly, that is),
Stefan
Actually these two turnbuckles are for two front cables - they will be located at the line mid span, more or less. The rear cables have the turnbuckles as well, but just under the top wing. Those two will be tied directly to the eyelets which are already glued there.
