Roden 1/48 scale BE12b
« on: June 06, 2012, 10:17:46 AM »
Dear friends, I just finished this one as part of the Roden GB on another site.  Now that she's done, I can focus on the OKGB and get the Hannover going.  Been looking over the reference material and the kit instructions and I'm gettin' psyched.

I apologize for the abundance of photos, but I'm just delighted that she's done.
Cheers,
Bud

Great end result, thanks for showing it to us, looks like (the aircraft not the model) the aircraft has had an unfortunate run in between a BE2c and an SE5a

Really well done! Love those night markings. :)

Thanks, Jim.  Me, too.  That's why I chose this scheme over the other two kit provided markings options.  I'd really love to do a night fighter in NIVO.  Maybe the Blue Max Avro 504k.
Cheers,
Bud

That's a great looking build. I really like your subtle rib shading, it brings that otherwise boring PC10 to life :) Nice work
Thank you, Red.  I actually enjoy working with PC10.  I like experimenting with various shades and textures.  I'm glad it worked this time.
Cheers,
Bud

Beautifully done Bud, she is a very attractive looking model.

Des.
Thank you for your generosity, Andrew and Des.  Pretty, she's not.  She's kinda odd looking.  Maybe that's where her charm lies.
I'd love to see you do one of these in 1/32 scale, Des.
Cheers,
Bud

Very nice model Bud; what rigging material(s) did you use?

You hit the nail on the head, my young friend.  1914 wings, struts and rigging married to a 1915 tail assembly, all attached to a 1917 forward fuselage and engine.  Funny looking bus, ain't she?
Cheers,
Bud
